Hi I'm Emily and I've been a make-up artist since 2010 and am based in Minehead, in the heart of the beautiful West Country. Following a degree at the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School, I began a career in television production working as a Production Manager. For 8 years I  did this alongside running my own business, but it was always very clear to me where my heart lay...

 

Now anyone that knows the television industry knows work isn't always plentiful and so whilst 'on a break' I started working as a Body Shop consultant. I found I had a flare for make-up so went on every course they could offer and trained as a make-up artist. Then in 2011 a brave lady asked me if I would do her make-up for her wedding day. Of course I was extremely flattered and being part of her special day was amazing and made me want to be a part of more big days. This gave me the boost I needed to take it further and many, many brides later, I still love every second!!! It's definitely more of a passion than a 'job'.

 

When I had my first baby, I ploughed all my energies into making this business a success and I love every minute. Working many many weddings a year around my young son, I have so much enthusiasm for my work and relish the chance to meet new people and make them feel beautiful in their own skin.

 

My style is to work with the natural you and enhance it. I don't really do heavy make-up, however I can provide this, if full coverage is really what you're looking for. I enjoy working with the natural contours of your face to bring out your inner glow and to work with your colourings to make your eyes pop and skin look and feel radiant. I use mostly vegan products, so if this is important to you please make sure to let me know.

 

I've also trained in Cosmetic Make-up at City of Bristol College graduating with a distinction and can offer, eyelash and brow tinting, Lash lifts and brow shaping. So if you need a tidy up I'm your girl too!

 

In February 2015 I was awarded Highly Commended in the make-up category of the Bristol and Somerset Wedding Awards. I was extremely excited and proud to win this and it has only spurred me on further to pursue my passion.

 

I also run South West Bridal Hair and Make-up. I have a large team of hair stylists and make-up artists who can work for me when I'm already booked. I look after the admin side of the business, which means if you have a large wedding party I can help with a complete team of stylists and artists, taking the stress out of organising it yourself.

 

In terms of the products I use, I try to be as ethical as possible which can be a little tricky in this industry but with research and time experimenting with products, I've now become a consultant for Arbonne and The Body Shop who supply cruelty free and ethical cosmetics and I really love their make-up.

 

I feel so lucky to be able to call this my job and relish sharing my make-up and skincare knowledge with my clients, which has led me to offer make-up tutorials. You can book a 2 hour 1 on 1 session with me in your own home or via video call. I will teach you how to use your existing make-up properly but also help you put together a shopping list should there be essential items you're missing. I've really come to realise that helping others get their makeup mojo back is where my heart lies. I can even work with you to revamp your skincare regime and to help you achieve the skin you've been aspiring for. Let's face it, makeup has no hope if your skin is lack lustre and tired.
